Dancing with the Doggie Stars!

As regular readers of this blog will already know, we are going to be giving 'canine freestyle' a go for Honey's Dancing with the Doggie Stars competition. Honey and her person, Hsin-Yi, as well as other new followers have all asked for some practise footage so here it is, Barbie working on her moves.

Bender fetched his ball for about 4 hours yesterday and is still too tired and grumpy to do any work, so there's no video of him yet. But enjoy Barbie's!

We are going to try and do 'marching paws' as well but Barbie is insistent on offering just one paw! I think her balance isn't as good on the other side.... but once she gets used to walking on her back legs I think her balance will be better.

You guys are doing SO WELL! I had a go at trying to shape Beryl doing 'marching paws', as you call it, today but she's so left 'footed' she didn't even move her right paw the tiniest bit. And I can't decide on the music. I haven't even found any to choose from, lol! Barbie is looking great:)

Barbie is left footed too. She started to move her right one just a teeny bit though so I think we might get there.

Aww...look at that wagging tail!! :-) Love it! Looks like you're making great progress - and most of all, having fun!! Barbie is actually doing so well to get up on her hind legs - Honey always really struggles with that - although maybe it's because I struggle to support her weight! Hee! Hee! I love the beautiful line of her deep chest and "tuck up" in her tummy - she's like one of those elegant dog statues!

Can't wait to see more!

She *loves* treats hence she loves learning tricks, hence the waggy tail. It's nice to see her wagging tail because Bender has never been much of a tail wagger.

I'm not sure I could get Bunny to do that move, but I love seeing Barbie do it! I think Blueberry would have done it a few years ago, but now at nine, I'm not sure that she could do it comfortably. I am loving your videos of getting ready for this!

hahah well Barbie used to jump up when she was over excited but now I've trained her to do it, she doesn't do it as much when she is excited :)

Oh - I meant to ask you - I was thinking of making a little compilation of what some of the DWTDS teams have been doing in preparation so far - so would you mind if I included your video?
