Bender and Froufrou - when there were only two!

I haven't always been surrounded by a menagerie. Bender and Froufrou came first, within weeks of each other, though Froufrou was close to fully grown, when Bender was a rather small pup. Bender initially thought that cats were for eating, but then they became very good friends. Bender is about 18 months old in this photo, and Froufrou would be 2 and a half years.

They are! and Barbie and Mittens owe them because if they were less than beautiful, the clan would not have increased in size ;)
Now Bunny's going to try to con me into getting her a kitty pillow! I'm not sure it would turn out quite like that. I thought she was cat safe, but when we were over at someone's house about a month ago, she had way too much interest in the cat for my comfort.

I love that picture of Bender and Frou Frou, and I still love her name!

I am sure she has the potential to be 'cat tolerant'. Barbie was quite interested in the cats when we got her home and it required a vigilant introduction period. Now I know I can trust them together though, even when the cats are running around the house like mad things.

Bender is only cat safe with his own cats. Same as Barbie really. I would go through all the steps of introducing them to new cats carefully.
I'd love to have dogs that are cat safe. Beryl is supposed to be but Frankie definitely isn't, despite (or maybe because of) having lived with a stroppy cat here the first couple of months I had him.

That is a gorgeous pictures. I love photos of cats and dogs together:)

If it wasn't for Froufrou being around when Bender was a pup, I am certain he would not be cat safe. He generally has a high prey drive (hence the incessant ball retrieving), and he chases unknown cats out of his yard - I think most cats are too fast and smart to be caught by the likes of him though.
