Mousie Antics!

I have been working hard to wear Mouse out but she recovers so quickly all efforts seem self-defeating. This is what Mouse is like when I get home from work.

ok this is an old picture, but still, captures her nature perfectly
Well, actually she had already done 3 zoomies and this video shows what she is like when she is winding down a little.

She has been playing tug-o-war with Bender, but she growls and he gets freaked out so he lets her win. He growls just as much as she does. Weird dog. This morning they were playing tug and Barbie was annoyed that she was left out so she started barking at them. They started growling louder. Barbie started doing little semi-zoomies and jumping up and down near Mouse's rump. I had to stop them because I was worried Barbie might get a bit overexcited and bite Mouse on the bum. That would have been very counterproductive to their relationship.

I took Mouse down to Whiteman Park along with Bender and Barbie on Saturday morning. We were there for an hour and a half. Mouse ran with the Greyhounds til they wore out, then she found some Kelpies to play with. Finally she settled down for a nap when we got home.

She has been advertised on Petrescue now so I know I am on borrowed time with her. I plan to spend as much time as possible with her and grill every prospective family on their future plans! There shall be no bouncing this time I will do my best to make sure of it!

I always thought Greyhounds were couch potatoes that barely move - I don't think Mouse got the memo.
Loved the video, Bender is such a happy gentle dog isn't he.

Mouse isn't really a Greyhound... If she didn't have the ear tattoos I would be convinced she wasn't one! I think she is an overgrown Whippet ;)
We are so used to the older pups at the house, after we got Kelli, we forgot that even though she might be a lazy greyhound at heart, she recovers much more quickly than the seniors. Is Barbie your Fun Police?

yes, I think Barbie is the fun police, she is going to get worse as she gets older! I think she just hates that other dogs are playing without including her
So cute to see the Energizer Mouse running around. I'm sending her (and you) the very best wishes that her perfect family comes along.
That business of growling, jaw snapping, and glaring that greys are so full of while playing, is truly alarming to the uninitiated! It's so fun to watch if no actual biting occurs!

Mouse is the most full on grey I've had in terms of jaw snapping and growling.... Barbie has a mean glare though haha
I don't know how you can bear to let Mouse go! She looks like so much fun! Asher hasn't got any Greyhound quirks so far. I did see him roaching once at 3 am but he's still a fairly introverted little guy. Except for when he's barking at Frankie wanting him to play. Frankie hates being barked at so that's the end of any playing. Hopefully Asher will make the connection eventually and stop barking!

Love both photos of Mouse, they're calendar material.

Mouse is fun! And she will only go to people who appreciate that about her :D
Oh Mouse. I wish we lived close enough to adopt you!
