Mittens and the Laundry Basket

Mittens likes to sleep in the laundry basket. I'm not really sure why. I think it's just one of those strange quirks she has. She is a strange cat. Another one of her quirks is that she likes to watch you taking a shower, and when you are finished she meows and purrs and twirls around your legs. It's the only time she ever asks for attention - it's like she has decided you are clean enough to touch her because you just had a shower. Usually if you try to pat her she will pull her evil face, move away from you, and start washing herself vigorously.

Anyway, I digress.

I was at work typing away on my computer, and my mobile vibrated on the desk next to me. I opened up the message, and it was a photo. This photo:

The story was, N hadn't seen Mittens for a couple of hours, and was curious about where she had got to. N went into the spare room, and saw Mittens trapped under the washing basket on the spare bed. We haven't figured out how Mittens became trapped but she wasn't trying to free herself. She wasn't even meowing.

Funny how she doesn't mind being trapped somewhere, but if I try to give her a worm pill or try to put a flea preventing spot on her neck she howls and growls and huffs and puffs and squirms to try and get away.

haha both the cats used to hang out inside or on top of Barbie's crate when it was in the living room, they don't do that so much anymore now it has moved to the bedroom and it isn't where the action is most of the time... :P
She probaby thinks her plan is working. NO MORE FLEA MEDICINE!! She knows you can't see her in there!!

I'm not looking forward to the day that she figures out that she can use her claws and teeth to make us let go of her!
Well, obviously, it's a matter of choice! If it's her idea, then it's all good! We used to have a cat who's only social time was in the morning when I was in the shower, too. He'd wait for me to get out and then lick the water off my legs!

hahah nice spiky cat tongue! Bender did the licking the water off your legs thing when he was a pup. He grew out of it though.
I also think it was flipped by design. You can't get to her in her fortress.
What is it with laundry baskets? Maybe it's the smell, which makes me go aw and ew at the same time.
Hi Barbie - thanks for coming over to visit me! I always love meeting new friends and getting comments on my blog! :-)

You sound like you had a scary experience with the siren!

My human loved the picture of Mittens in the laundry basket - and we really laughed at your human's story about Mittens looking disgusted unless you're just washed - ha! ha! My kitty sister, Lemon, used to love sleeping in the laundry basket too.

Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
